Longevity treatments: evidence and regulation

We cover 9 treatments sold by longevity clinics, with the evidence label, the regulators' positions and the clinics we list that offer each.

Each page explains what the treatment is, what studies in people show, what regulators have said, and questions to ask before you book. Some of these treatments are approved for specific medical conditions. Our evidence labels show that none is established as a treatment for healthy ageing.

Prescription-only medicines are named by their generic names. Where the rules forbid advertising them, we do not show their prices. These pages describe treatments; they do not recommend them. Talk to your own doctor before any treatment.

The four evidence labels

ESTABLISHED
Recommended in clinical guidelines for defined uses.
EMERGING
Early human evidence; benefits for healthy ageing not yet shown.
UNPROVEN
No good evidence of benefit for healthy ageing; regulators have issued warnings or advise against routine use.
DEPENDS ON USE
Established for some medical conditions, unproven as a longevity treatment.
